Ecclesiastes 1-3
Psalm 45
Ephesians 2

S: Ecclesiastes 2:24

"So I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to find satisfication in work. Then I realized that these Pleasures are from the hand of God."

O: Its interesting reading Ecclesiastes. Its written in a different tone and a different style. Its interesting to read Solomon, King of David's son reminiscing over his life. The failures and the great things. The book has almost a ho hum approach. Its funny the 1st time I read through this verse I thought it was talking more about enjoying life because nothing matters anyways. But as I reread it I realized, Do your work. I was brought back to the verse that says to do your work as though you are working for the Lord. But this verse says to find satisfaction in your work. Then realize that this sense of satisfaction comes from God. Enjoy your job done well! Serve him in it and through it!

A: Sometimes we get in the mindset that this is just a job. We are just trying to pay the bills. That is has no real value except to bring home the bacon! This is so far from the truth! We are put in positions for a reason. Sometimes we don't understand those reasons but just becuase we don't understand doesn't mean that they don't exist. We must be a Godly witness in these positions, do our best, and find satisfaction in the things we do. We must come to a realization that this sense of satisfaction comes from God.

P: Lord help me to remember that you have put me in the place I am at. You have put me at Mentor Graphics and you have put Shawn and I at LOCC. Please continue to use me in the positions where you have placed me. I come against that sense of cockyness and desire your sense of satisfaction in everything I do. Help me to always remember Im not just working for man but that I am working for you! Thank you Lord, Amen.
